A select and informal two-day workshop among leading researchers on novel problems in acoustics and ultrasonics at the micro to nano scale, spanning physical analysis to engineering applications, especially in fluids.

Topics included surface acoustic wave actuators, acoustic micro to nano-fluidics, interface phenomena, device fabrication and physics, and measurement techniques.

Invited speakers described their work over the two days in seminars interspersed with discussion periods, short talks by attendees, informal breakfasts, lunches and tours of the region arranged to engender new ideas and discussion.

All speakers have the opportunity to place articles in the AIP journal Biomicrofluidics for a special issue to be prepared in connection with this event. The submissions for this opportunity are due 31 Dec 2009.
